FIT is completely web-based, and should be accessible from any computer with internet access. This allows us to provide you with a complete hassle free solution, including all IT related details.

Convenient

Rather than you purchasing a license and installing FIT on one of your internal computers, Alcea can run and maintain the software for you from one of our data centers. For your convenience, we deal with hardware, connectivity, and software upgrades, so you don't have to. In addition, since the server is on our server and accessible by our team, we can always work right along with you, if you have questions about your system.

Included with each system is a free conference call to assist you in configuring your instance of FIT.

Reliable

Alcea Technologies uses servers located in secure data centers across North America. All of the locations are equipped with redundant systems and are physically secured, staffed and monitored at all hours of the day. Our support team is extremely responsive to your needs and our servers have maintained 99.9% connectivity over the last 5 years.

Data is securely backed up on a nightly and weekly basis, between servers. In the event of a catastrophic failure, our immediate priority is to retrieve all available data from the disk drive or the last backup. We are then able to immediately configure a mirror of your server at a different physical location and map your URL accordingly for the smallest possible down time.

Secure

Alcea's FIT software has been through a thorough Web Application Security Assessment for security vulnerabilities such as arbitrary command execution, Cross-Site Scripting, Administrative Interface access tests, Arbitrary File Source Disclosure, Logins Sent Over Unencrypted Connections, Possible Command File Shell (sh) and Intra Buffer Overflow. With proper industry standard server setup and configuration, and Alcea's distinct software platform and footprint, all these items were easily addressed, to provide a safe web experience for our customers. Our software has been deployed securely within government departments, medical organizations, financial institutions, law enforcement agencies and various industries, all concerned with their data security. Our system accepts and serves binary files that are associated with issues, but in no way changes the data. For that added comfort level, this means that there is no way that FIT can infect a file with a virus. FIT, like all other software tracking systems, is not a virus software and therefore, like all organizations, the customer must have basic virus checks of email attachments and document checking.

Our hosted services are equally secure and have met our customer's high expectations. Our servers exist for the sole purpose of housing FIT hosted solutions. Since FIT is a stand alone application, we are able to keep connectivity to the machine to a minimum (as a firewall). The only ports open from the server are for FIT, SSH for maintenance, Apache for SSL and SMTP for sending email. Only our Alcea technical staff, all with Government Security Clearance, are able to access your machine, and all connections to the machines must be secure.

Our SSL option allows you to ensure that 128 bit encryption is used for all data traveling between FIT and its users.

Physical Specifications

Our latest data servers consist of a dual core CPUs with up to 2GB RAM, 160 GB Disks, running BSD Linux. These machines are physically located at Netsonic in Green Bay. We also have servers at Aktiom Networks or if necessary we can set up servers locally at Magma Communications.

Our primary goal is to provide customers with steady, consistent response times. For this reason we limit our servers to approximately 10 instances of FIT, which should be more than sufficient. If you are ever unsatisfied with the performance of your system, we will gladly move you to a new server or arrange for a dedicated server.
